Vandals struck at Kawana Elementary School in southeast Santa Rosa early this week, breaking a window and leaving behind an extensive amount of graffiti, reported Santa Rosa police.
The vandals left a small hole in a classroom window, although what caused the hole couldn't be determined, according to a police report, said Sgt. Lisa Banayat.
Pillars and benches were vandalized with graffiti and someone removed vent hoods off the roof.
An initial damage estimate included about $250 for the stolen vents.
The vandalism occurred between 4 p.m. Monday and 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Banayat said.
Kawana School is on Moraga Drive in a residential neighborhood and is part of the Bellevue Union Elementary School District.
