Interests at home

EDITOR: In a time of careful consideration of what we do as far as our global interests, I feel compelled to engage myself in a little folly here. Thinking of all the effort we devote to producing military advantages on a global scale, the things we seem to destroy with those advantages and the financial burdens in reconstructing the infrastructures we seem compelled to demolish as a global peacekeeper, it is high time we reconsider our positions.

Let's ponder bringing our troops home and supporting them here, and instead of undertaking financial burdens abroad, we could spend more time taking care of two of the most important demographic groups at home. That's the next generation, children, who must be educated, and those who got us to the point of nobility we have earned, the elderly. Then we could spend a little more time on our dilapidated infrastructure.
