Mosquitoes found in Cloverdale tested positive for West Nile virus, the Marin/Sonoma Mosquito & Vector Control District said Thursday.
The mosquitoes, which were the first to test positive for the virus this season, were found near Citrus Fair Drive and Asti Road.
"This is a reminder that WNV continues to be a health threat in Sonoma and Marin counties," Nizza Sequeira, the district's public relations director, said in a statement. "We anticipate more activity as we enter the late summer months, when temperatures generally spike."
