Driver hurt in remote Sonoma County crash, then arrested

A Stewarts Point man suffered major injuries when he crashed his car early Saturday. Later he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, the CHP said.

George Marrufo was traveling eastbound on Stewarts Point-Skaggs Spring Road at high speed when he lost control of his car, drove down a hillside and into a tree., the CHP said.

He suffered cranial injuries and facial fractures in the crash, which happened at about 6:30 a.m., the CHP said.

Marrufo, 51, was arrested at Santa Rosa Memorial Hopsital, where he was treated for his injuries.
