Boats banned from Lake Sonoma due to government shutdown

Boat traffic on Lake Sonoma is now banned because of the government shutdown, the Army Corps of Engineers said Monday.

The Corps had already announced the two public launch ramps would close, but had previously said the marina ramp would remain open. Spokesman J.D. Hardesty said Monday that the marina remains open, but boats are no longer allowed to leave the dock or launch from its ramp.

All other recreational facilities around the reservoir are closed, he said, but rangers remain on duty and will cite anyone found trespassing at the park.
