Michelin announces 2014 Bib Gourmand awards in the Bay Area

A week before announcing which restaurants will receive stars in the Michelin Guide San Francisco 2014, Michelin announced its Bay Area Bib Gourmand awards.

Bib Gourmand restaurants are places where you can get two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less, not including tax and tip.

A total of 83 restaurants made the list, including 19 from Wine Country, the most Bib Gourmand selections since the San Francisco guide was first published by Michelin in 2006.

Last year, 70 restaurants garnered the award, including 17 from Wine Country. Wine Country newcomers to the list include Backyard in Forestville, Chalkboard in Healdsburg and the Glen Ellen Star in Glen Ellen. K & L Bistro of Sebastopol was included last year but didn't make it this year.
