Forgiving Levi
EDITOR: Steve McGowan ("Shun Levi," Letters, Wednesday) said Levi Leipheimer should be shunned for life for his involvement in doping. I disagree strongly. Leipheimer has owned up to what he did, and he has taken some action to try to atone for it. I'm in favor of giving him a break. According to Christian tradition, Jehovah will forgive a member of his community for absolutely anything if the person confesses his sin and is truly contrite. Anything. So we in Sonoma County and the bicycling communities are going to condemn one of ours, Levi Leipheimer, for life because he cheated on a bicycle race?
