Sonoma County sheriff's officials have arrested several people in connection with a rash of residential burglaries in north Sonoma County within the past two months.
The burglaries occurred Nov. 13 at a home on the 1100 block of Wikiup Drive in Santa Rosa; on Dec. 9 at a residence on the 10500 block of Chalk Hill Road in Windsor and on Dec. 16 at a home on the 900 block of Chiquita Road in Healdsburg.
Acting on a tip that identified three women as possible suspects, sheriff's detectives this week apprehended Jasmine Marie Roper, 38, of Santa Rosa and Ronni Roxann Stout, 23, of Santa Rosa. They are pursuing criminal charges against Sarah Tarango, 38, of Petaluma.
Detectives first went to Roper's house Dec. 18 and initially arrested her on outstanding warrants on suspicion of trespassing, being under the influence of drugs, burglary and possession of a forged check.
Sheriff's officials said that during an interview at the Sheriff's Office, Roper admitted to taking part in the three burglaries. She subsequently was arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy in connection with the recent crimes.
The following day, detectives went to Stout's residence on the 1800 block of McMinn Avenue in southwest Santa Rosa. When they arrived, they saw a silver Acura Legend leave the residence, officials said.
Sheriff's detectives tried to stop the vehicle on a code violation, but the driver, Patrick James Barsky, 30, of Sebastopol, evaded the detectives and led them on a pursuit. Barsky eventually was stopped and detained a few blocks away on Gardner Avenue.
Barsky was arrested on suspicion of various offenses, including possession and sales of methamphetamines, a warrant for disobeying a court order, felony evasion of a law enforcement officer and driving on a suspended license. The passenger in the Acura, Chelsea Jo Gilliam, 24, of Santa Rosa, was arrested on an outstanding warrant on suspicion of bringing drugs into the jail.
Detectives then returned to Stout's home and arrested her on outstanding warrants and possession of a methamphetamine pipe and methamphetamine. Stout was booked into jail on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property, as well as the warrant violations.
Finally, detectives went to Tarango's home in Petaluma and found her white van parked in front of the residence with stolen property from the two burglaries, the Sheriff's Office said.
The van also had damage "consistent with damage to a fence at the scene of one of the residential burglaries," a sheriff's statement said. The van was impounded as evidence and sheriff's officials submitted a criminal case against Tarango to the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office.
No other information was available Friday evening.
