Got the Christmas Blues?

Feeling a bit blue among all the red-and-green of Christmas?

Downtown Santa Rosa's Church of the Incarnation has struck upon an antidote: A Christmas Blues musical service, an opportunity to step away from the hustle-bustle, commercialism and expectations of the season and enjoy a bit of soulful music.

It happens tonight, Saturday Dec. 21, at the historic Episcopalian church on Mendocino Avenue. The Blues Service starts at 7 p.m. There is no charge, though donations are welcome.

Alan Frederick, former music director and accompanist for Maria Muldaur, has assembled a band for a service that will allow anyone interested to come sing the blues together.
