Arrest made in late-night Santa Rosa stabbings

Santa Rosa police have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with a double stabbing Saturday night in west Santa Rosa.

The youth's name wasn't released. He was identified as a Santa Rosa gang member.

Police said a father and son, ages 38 and 18, were stabbed about 7:45 p.m. Saturday at an apartment complex on Rockwell Place. The names of the victims were not released.

Both were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The father underwent surgery and was expected to survive, police said. The son was treated for multiple stab wounds, including at least one to his neck, and was released Saturday.

Officers responding Saturday night followed a blood trail into the Puerto Villa apartment complex as residents huddled in groups outside.

Police at the scene said a sure? gang member who lived in the complex may have committed the crime.

Police later arrested the teen suspect. He was expected to be charged with attempted murder and gang enhancements.

Gang detectives continue to investigate the case. They ask that anyone with information call the gang crimes unit at 543-3670.
