Sonoma-Marin Fair attendance on track to equal or surpass 2012

Sonoma-Marin Fair officials say attendance for the five-day event looks good, although final figures won't be tallied for another week or so.

Through the first four days, the numbers appeared to be on track to equal or surpass last year's record 62,000 attendees, fair CEO Pat Conklin said.

Sunday's box office may have been down a bit from last year because of the threat of rain, she said.

Fair workers are still tallying presale, exhibitor and other tickets that were not sold at the gate.

"We had a great fair. It was very calm and pleasant," she said. "We had lots of families and good day crowds."

Thursday's gate attendance was the busiest Thursday in several years, she said. The Kellie Pickler concert that night was a big draw, she said, as was Saturday's Loverboy show.
