Conley 4th in 5,000 meters

Kim Conley fell just shy of qualifying for the United States team heading to the World Track and Field Championships.

Conley was fourth in Sunday's 5,000 meters at the U.S. championships in Des Moines, Iowa in 15 minutes, 37.80 seconds. The top three finishers qualify for the world games. Shannon Rowbury ran third in 15:37.27. Jennifer Simpson won in 15:33.77. Molly Huddle ran 15:35.45.

U-15 FREEZE POSTPONED

The Santa Rose Freeze Under-15 girls' tournament game in Aurora, Colo. was postponed Sunday by thunder storms at the Elite Clubs National League playoff tournament. The Freeze will play the Dallas Sting today at 9 a.m. The winner advances to the national championships.
