Erratic weather settling to warmer temperatures for weekend

From record rains to scorching sun, Sonoma County has enjoyed a symphony of seasons in recent days.

Temperatures in Santa Rosa are expected to hit 89 degrees today – a far cry from the 64 degrees and record rains endured on Tuesday. The 1.16 inches that fell in Santa Rosa early this week surpassed the .33-inch record for June 25 recorded in 1962.

But the heat is back.

The mercury will hit 93 on Saturday, according to Diana Henderson, meteorologist with the National Weather Service, and stay in the low 90s through Tuesday.

On Wednesday, temperatures should fall to about 83 degrees and by the July 4 holiday, highs will be in the mid-70s.
