Sonoma's City Council on Wednesday is set to discuss whether to proceed with an ordinance that would restrict, or perhaps ban, leaf blowers.
Councilmembers Ken Brown and Joanne Sanders have asked that the issue be addressed by the full council.
The result could be development of an ordinance banning or restricting leaf blowers in the city. Or the issue could be sent to a city committee that studies environmental concerns.
About 20 California cities have banned leaf blowers. Others restrict their hours of operation, or allow only electric or battery-powered blowers.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 177 First St. W., Sonoma.
