PAYING THE TAB

EDITOR: Thank you for your letter, Paul Dean (Jan. 30). President Bush's

outrage was leveled toward California. By his actions he was saying,

''California got themselves into this mess, let them get out of it

themselves.'' After all, we were not a Bush state.

We did get out of it by getting ''gouged'' by every energy company, most of

them from Texas. It was a great ploy, too, because Gray Davis is left holding

the bag. Most uninformed Californians now can blame him for the cost of our

energy bailout. PG&E left all of California paying the tab.
