'Tortilla Curtain' author making North Coast appearance

T.C. Boyle, the author of "Tortilla Curtain," is coming to the North Coast.

On Feb. 20, Boyle appears at The Dance Palace (503 B St.) in Point Reyes Station. The controversial - at least locally - writer will read from his newest book, "Wild Child," a collection of stories that explore the intersection of the so-called civilized world and the natural world in ways only Boyle, with his finely honed social conscience, exuberant mischievousness and wicked-smart humor, can.

Tickets are $10 at the door the night of the event, which begins at 7 p.m.

For more information and to inquire about advance tickets, especially if it will be a long drive for you, call Point Reyes Books at (415) 663-1542.

Michele Anna Jordan hosts "Mouthful" each Sunday at 7 p.m. on KRCB 90.9 & 91.1 FM. E-mail Jordan at michele@micheleannajordan.com.
