Bring on Google

EDITOR: In light of Google's interest in finding communities where it can test its new high-speed broadband service, let's hope the Santa Rosa City Council puts in its bid immediately for us to become one of those test communities ("Google to build ultra-high-speed online networks," Thursday).

Given that Comcast and AT&T are the major players around here at the moment and don't have much competition, Santa Rosa would be ideal for such a test. Google says its service would be 100 times faster than cable or DSL, so let's give it a shot and bring more of our citizens into the world of 21st century communications.
