Authorities identified the victim of an early Tuesday crash as 55-year-old Manuel Acosta Montano, Sonoma County coroner's officials said.
Acosta Montano, whose family lives in Madera, was a passenger in a Chevrolet van when it drifted off Guerne-ville Road, struck a tree and flipped over, the CHP said.
Officials also named the driver as Laureno Terrazas, 19, of Santa Rosa, CHP Officer Terry Mu?z said.
Terrazas, who allegedly ran from the scene and was arrested late Tuesday, is suspected of felony hit and run, vehicular manslaughter and driving without a license, Mu?z said.
Terrazas was arrested at his girlfriend's Santa Rosa home Tuesday night and taken into custody, Mu?z said.
Authorities suspect Terrazas was at the wheel of the van carrying four other men, headed to work at Occidental's Seascape Ranch around 5:10 a.m. Tuesday.
The driver veered off the pavement west of Olivet Road, struck a pine tree and the van overturned, ejecting a passenger. The man died when the van landed on top of him.
Three other men in the car were injured, including Ignacio Hernandez-Rubio, 17, a Piner High School student who was taken to Kaiser Hospital with a broken leg.
Domingo Layata-Mendez, 34, and Nahum Avendano, 26, both of Santa Rosa, were treated for injuries at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and released, authorities said.
The driver was seen running from the van and into a vineyard. Santa Rosa and Petaluma police assisted the CHP in tracking him down and making an arrest, Mu?z said.
