What will become of Healdsburg's 90-year-old, steel-truss bridge over the Russian River?
The City Council is poised to make a key decision Monday on the future of Memorial Bridge, also known as the Healdsburg Avenue bridge. It is considering a $2.8 million contract for environmental and engineering studies to evaluate rehabilitation or replacement of the aging structure.
Preservationists are likely to reiterate their plea to save the bridge, rather than build a new one.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Monday at Healdsburg City Hall.
