Santa Rosa cafe featured on Food Network show

Sonoma County's famous foodie Guy Fieri didn't have to travel far to shoot a "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" episode at one of most unusual joints the show has ever featured.

Guy and his crew spent about five hours at Worth Our Weight — or WOW — the culinary apprentice cafe for at-risk young people that's run by Evelyn Cheatham.

"Guy went over the top with the kids," Evelyn said. And he left a little something for the life-changing cafe near Montgomery High:

It's an Awesome Pretzel Stand, a replica of the one that launched Guy's career when he began selling soft pretzels as a kid in Ferndale.

WOW apprentices will sell fresh pastries from the cart on Saturdays at the Santa Rosa farmers' market.
