Coppola winery opening pool, pavilion and park

All the family-friendly atractions that have been in the works at Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville will open Friday, Oct. 22, for a sneak peak before winter descends.

The outdoor attractions include two swimming pools, a cafe, a performing arts pavilion and a park area with game tables and bocce courts.

The park and pools will be open daily through Oct. 31 and on weekends in November, weather permitting.

Initially, admission to the pools will be complimentary to all guests. The outdoor Pool Cafe will serve a selection of casual fare, from paninis and pizza to sandwiches and salads, plus gelato. Lunch items range from a Prosciutto Panini ($8) to a Pizza Sofia. ($15)

The pool area also features European-style changing cabins, which are available for $25 on a first-come, first-served basis.

The performance pavilion will host a variety of live music and dancing on weekends through November.

This weekend, the Hot Frittatas will perform from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22; Zighi Baci will play from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23; and Bluestate will perform from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24.

The Francis Ford Coppola Winery opened its newly renovated interior space in July. The complex includes Rustic, a restaurant with outdoor dining terraces and adjacent cocktail bar; two wine tasting bars; an extensive movie gallery featuring memorabilia; and a retail shop carrying gift items from around the world.
