SRJC Hall of Fame inductions set

DeeDee Baddeley, Rick Call, Steve Tiedeman and the Santa Rosa JC 1978 football team have been selected for induction into the Bear Cubs' Athletic Hall of Fame.

The ceremony will take place on March 5 at the Doubletree Hotel & Conference Center in Rohnert Park.

Baddeley was a three-sport letter winner at SRJC in the early 1980s and played on the school's state championship softball team.

Call began his involvement with SRJC as a student-athlete in 1967 and has been active on campus ever since. For the past 18 years, he has served on the Board of Trustees and currently is its president.

Tiedeman played basketball for the Bear Cubs in the early '70s under coach Hank Cooper and ranked as one of the state's leading scorers. He finished his college career at Sonoma State.

The '78 football team, coached by Marv Mays, capped an 11-0 season by winning by the California JC state championship. That team was quarterbacked by Harley Miller, already in the school's Hall of Fame.

Tickets for the 16th annual Hall of Fame event can be purchased by calling the athletic department at 707-527-4237. The public is invited.

Members of the Hall of Fame committee are Jenean Bingham, Rick Call, Byron Craighead, Chris Elze (chairman), Rhonda Eisenhauer, James Forkum, James Lanz, Ron Myers, Maryjane Rizzitello, Trish Rooney and Pat Ryan.
