Warrant issued in arrow shooting

A $75,000 arrest warrant has been issued for a man believed to have shot an arrow from the balcony of his Guerneville home last month, striking a man in a car in the head.

Shaun David Gallon, 30, a Guerneville resident, is still missing 16 days after the attack. He is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon.

Sheriff's officials Wednesday described him as a self-taught survivalist who is familiar with the Russian River and Sonoma Coast.

Sgt. Mike Raasch said Gallon is believed to have fled to Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve or the Austin Creek State Recreation Area.

Raasch said deputies were searching the area, but had not launched an intensive manhunt.

"He's missing of his own accord," Raasch said. "And it's not like he has a medical condition where we might search for him more urgently."

Deputies initially believed Gallon was at home after the attack and called in SWAT teams. The standoff lasted 29 hours and ended when heavily armed deputies stormed the house and found it empty.
