Foley expands wine portfolio again

The man who bought Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery last year is again adding to his rapidly growing wine portfolio.

Sonoma-based Foley Family Wines, owned by title insurance executive Bill Foley, announced Wednesday a new partnership with Alexander Valley winery Wattle Creek and Australian vodka brand Boomerang.

The brands, both owned by Cloverdale resident Chris Williams, will be sold by the Foley Family Wines sales force.

The deal follows a dizzying series of winery acquisitions by Foley in the last two years. Founded in 1996, Foley Family has purchased Sebastiani Vineyards in Sonoma, Firestone Vineyard in Santa Barbara, Three Rivers in Walla Walla, and Kuleto Estates and Merus in Napa.

Earlier this month Foley announced his intent to purchase the 280,000-case New Zealand Wine Trust.

Foley Family Wines, which relocated to Sonoma after the Sebastiani purchase, produces about 500,000 cases of wine annually.
