Windy weather set to chase away warmth over next several days

Get out your rakes, the beautifully warm fall weather pattern sitting over the North Coast will continue Monday but strong, cool winds are due to push in starting late Monday night.

A wind advisory has been issued for the hills throughout the area starting at midnight Monday and lasting until late Wednesday morning, said Steve Anderson, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

Winds are expected between 15-20 mph in the hills, helping spread the leaves around and further clear more trees of foliage.

?Today beautiful. Tuesday, breezy. Wednesday, breezy. Thursday beautiful,? said Anderson, summing up much of the work week.

Friday should be cloudy as a possible rain front moves in for Saturday, bringing a 20 percent chance of rain that day.

Monday?s high in Santa Rosa was expected to reach 75 degrees, one up from the average high of 74 degrees for this late October day.

But temperatures are expected to drop Tuesday and Wednesday into the 60s due to the breezes from the north.

Morning temperatures too will sink, possibly into the 30s by Wednesday morning, Anderson said.

Thursday afternoon should warm back into the 70s in Santa Rosa.
