A routine traffic stop north of Geyserville by a California Highway Patrol officer on Wednesday afternoon turned into a discovery of 20,000 doses of the ?date rape? drug known as GHB.

The CHP said a 37-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested on several drug-related charges after an officer pulled the man over for speeding on southbound Highway 101 near the Canyon Road exit.

The man, identified as Daniel Paul Gertz, produced a fraudulent driver?s license and was placed under arrest, the CHP said.

During a search of his car by the arresting officer, J.L. Holeman, a small amount of marijuana and hash was found along with three gallons of GHB. Agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency were summoned to the scene and reported the amount was enough to produce 20,000 doses.

The man, whose true identity has not been established, was being held in the Sonoma County jail without bail.
