Report: Sonoma winemaker Ben Flajnik is the next star of 'The Bachelor'

The Sonoma bachelor who captured the hearts of many a young lady this summer may be getting another chance at love on reality TV.

US Weekly is reporting that Ben Flajnik will be the next star of "The Bachelor," the ABC reality series where 25 women compete to win a marriage proposal and national celebrity.

Flajnik and his business partner did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment.

Last week, Flajnik told The Press Democrat that he could not discuss his future plans, or the shows "The Bachelorette" or "The Bachelor." He said he's been working hard making wines and preparing for the upcoming harvest.

"Barrels are ordered, and contracts are in place," Flajnik said at the time. "It's a little late this year because of all the rains, but I think it's going to make for more concentrated flavors."

A spokeswoman for Benziger Family Winery, where Flajnik and his partners bottle their line of Evolve wines, could not verify the rumors.

"Nothing that we have heard has been confirmed either way," said Jessica LaBounty of Benziger. "He certainly seems like the front runner, but we have no knowledge that it's been decided."
