Santa Rosa dentist takes Halloween candy from kids

Kids willing to turn their Halloween candy into cash can take their bags of sugar to a Santa Rosa dentist.

Dr. Andrew McCormick has promised to pay $1 per pound of candy.

He's taking the candy from Tuesday to Friday at his office at 855 Fountaingrove Parkway.

McCormick said he's hoping to help some children avoid the sugar that can lead to tooth decay and weight gain.

Call his office at 579-9993 for candy buy-back hours.
