Copperfield's Books closes for move to smaller Santa Rosa location

Copperfield's Books in Montgomery Village is moving this week into its new, smaller location.

The bookstore on the corner of Montgomery Drive and Farmers Lane will remain closed for four days during the move, according to an announcement on the store's website.

The new location, located near the Ross store at 775 Village Court, will open for business at 10 a.m. Friday, the company said. A grand opening celebration with food, drink and local authors will be held Nov. 30.

The bookstore had announced the move in July. Copperfield's managers said the lease was expiring and they could not afford the rent increase sought by the shopping center.

The also said there were issues with termites and leaks in the structure.
