Time to disarm

EDITOR: Texas Gov. Rick Perry's assertion that the United States under his command would take military action to "prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon" demonstrates clearly why the United States should not have nuclear weapons of its own. The United States and Iran must not have nuclear weapons, nor any other country.

Unless we abandon this weaponry ourselves, we cannot dictate to any other country to do the same. Unfortunately for the hawks, such as Perry, we are not able to be top dog in the world anymore, and it will be the worse for us all until we recognize this fact and begin to live and work with our means.
