Gang assault outside Santa Rosa Safeway injures 3

Three men were assaulted by suspected gang members after leaving a Safeway parking lot in Santa Rosa early Sunday morning.

The three unidentified men were confronted around 1 a.m. by a large group of gang members, who chased the victims into a nearby Shell gas station at the intersection of Marlow Road and Guerneville Road, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

The three men sustained non life-threatening injuries before they were able to get inside a car and flee the assault, according to the police report. Two of the men required medical attention and were taken to the hospital after talking with police.

The Santa Rosa Police Department Gang Crimes Team is investigating the incident and is anyone with information about the assault call investigators at 543-4074 or the Gang Crimes Team at 543-3670.
