Santa Rosa man arrested after 110 mph chase

The 25-year-old man is suspected of reckless evading, resisting arrest, transporting marijuana and driving without a license.|

A man was arrested early Tuesday morning after leading a Sonoma County sheriff’s deputy on a chase that officers said reached 110 mph on Santa Rosa streets.

The Sheriff’s Office said Antonio Campos-Mendoza, 25, of Santa Rosa evaded a deputy, driving 110 mph on Santa Rosa Avenue and Petaluma Hill Road, running multiple stop signs, before returning to a residence on Mountain View Avenue. Deputies and Santa Rosa Police officers surrounded the residence and arrested Campos-Mendoza.

During a search of his SUV, deputies said they found two pounds of processed marijuana.

Campos-Mendoza had two active warrants in Sonoma County and one in Napa County. He was arrested on suspicion of reckless evading, resisting arrest, transporting marijuana, driving without a license, as well as for his outstanding warrants, and he was booked into the Sonoma County Jail. He was released on $75,000 bail and is due in court Nov. 24.
