A pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist on Highway 101 near

Limerick Lane south of Healdsburg Saturday night, briefly closing the

northbound traffic lanes.

Highway Patrol officers were still at the scene, and details of the

accident weren't available Saturday night.

Dispatchers said the accident occurred about 7:13 p.m. Both lanes were

reported open again about 8:40 p.m.

The Highway Patrol didn't know the identity of the victim or what the

victim was doing on the freeway.
