Deadline extended to enter Santa Rosa school board race

The deadline to enter the race for Santa Rosa school board has been extended to Wednesday because incumbent Tad Wakefield is not seeking re-election.

Four seats on the seven-member board are open on the November ballot.

Incumbents Laura Gonzalez, Larry Haenel and Donna Jeye are seeking re-election. Santa Rosa attorney Jenni Klose is also in the race.

The deadline for filing paperwork with the Sonoma County elections office is 5 p.m. Wednesday.

In other school board races across Sonoma County, if incumbents are running for re-election, the deadline for entering the race was Friday. If an incumbent does not seek re-election, the deadline is extended to Wednesday.

The general election is Nov. 6.
