Sharpshooter act

EDITOR: There has been some debate as to whether a North Carolina father's disciplinary actions were appropriate after the airing of a video in which he gunned down his daughter's laptop ("Was dad right in tech execution?" Feb. 22). Before stating my opinion, I would like to point out that I myself am a teenager.

I watch fellow high school students act disrespectfully toward their parents. In almost all of the situations, the disrespected parents have done nothing to invite the inappropriate behavior, and worse, allow their child or children to continue to treat them that way. Therefore, I salute Tommy Jordan for the way he dealt with his daughter's inappropriate behavior. It is high time that children and teenagers start dealing with their anger in mature ways and appreciating the things they have.

My only issue with the airing of this hilarious disciplinary act is that there was no video of the daughter's reaction.
