Sonoma County Harvest Fair kicks off at fairgrounds

The annual Sonoma County Harvest Fair opened Friday at the county fairgrounds in Santa Rosa with a special morning designed to connect 1,000 local schoolchildren with the region's agricultural heritage.

The fair continues today and Sunday, with chef demonstrations, music, arts and crafts shows and the Tasting Pavilion, where fairgoers can taste wines from more than 150 local wineries.

The Harvest Fair is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youths and free for children 6 and under. Wine and beer tasting is additional.
