Palm Drive Hospital hires new CEO

A veteran health care administrator has been hired as Palm Drive Hospital's chief executive officer, the Sebastopol hospital's 10th in the past five years.

Tom Harlan, 66, who moved to Sebastopol last year, will be paid $237,000 a year. He will start Sept. 4.

Harlan succeeds Rick Reid, who has been the interim chief executive officer since March. Reid is also chief financial officer for Palm Drive and will remain in that position.

Harlan has been a hospital consultant and was previously president and chief administrative officer at John Muir Medical Center in Concord, CEO at Chinese Hospital and Chinese Community Health Plan in San Francisco and senior executive at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco.
