Letter of the Day: Unsolicited calls

Unsolicited calls

EDITOR: I am a registered voter with the ability to think for myself. I study the candidates and issues and make decisions so that I can vote intelligently. I deeply resent the fact that I have been deluged with mailers and phone calls. The mail I can handle, as it goes directly into the big blue tote, but the phone calls drive me crazy. I have caller ID, which helps with some. But many of the callers now use local numbers, and I need to answer them. It is not fun to rush to the phone to discover it is yet another political call.

I also wonder how many trees could be saved if all of those mailers were dispensed with, not to mention the money saved. I suggest that candidates wishing to spend all that money donate it to a good cause. Then I might be more inclined to vote for them.
