Molotov cocktail thrown into Santa Rosa home

A 50-year-old Santa Rosa woman was arrested Sunday on suspicion of throwing a Molotov cocktail into a neighbor's window, Santa Rosa police officials said.

Seria Jean Taylor was being held on $500,000 bail at the Sonoma County jail on suspicion of arson of an inhabited dwelling and using an explosive device, Sgt. Phil Brazis said.

Witnesses told police that they saw Taylor drive up to a neighbor's Ware Avenue house at about 7:40 a.m. Saturday, Brazis said.

She got out of the car, lit a wick in a bottle filled with accelerant and threw the bottle into a living room window, Brazis said.

The resident of the home on Ware Avenue near the Sonoma County Fairgrounds extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived.

Officers were told the neighbors were known to be in some kind of dispute.

Police found Taylor at 3 p.m. Sunday after a person called to report she had returned home. She fled in a car before officers arrived, but a person followed her and called police.

Officers arrested her on Mendocino Avenue, Brazis said.
