Memorial services have been set for Kimberly Louise Baucom, a second-grade teacher and Petaluma native who was killed April 15 by her estranged husband. She was 43.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. May 8 at the Petaluma Valley Baptist Church, 580 Sonoma Mountain Parkway in Petaluma.
Baucom's family chose to use her maiden name. She was married to Kevin Conover, 41, who witnesses said shot her before turning the weapon on himself.
Baucom was born in 1969 to Lyle and Carol Baucom.
She studied at Petaluma High School and graduated from Analy High in 1987.
Baucom studied rhetoric, communications and political science at the University of California, Davis. She earned her teaching credential at Dominican University.
She taught at Meadow Elementary School in east Petaluma for more than a dozen years at many grade levels. She especially loved helping second graders master reading.
She is survived by her four children, Carly and Audrey Sullivan and twins Michael and Macie Conover; her parents, Lyle and Carol Baucom; and sister, Lori Baucom Burleson.
Memorial donations may be made to one of two funds established to support her children.
