Woman thrown from car, other major injuries in Lake County crash

A Clearlake Oaks woman was thrown from a car and suffered major injuries during a crash Tuesday afternoon in Lake County, reported the CHP.

The 2:10 p.m. crash involved a car and a pickup at the junction of Highway 20 and Highway 53 in Clearlake Oaks.

Driver Leslie Uboldi Jr., 52, of Eureka was east on Highway 20 at about 60 mph, reported the CHP.

As he approached the stop sign at the junction Uboldi didn't slow or stop, said the CHP. His car smashed into a pickup turning across the roadway.

The truck was driven by Robert Roberts, 80, of Clearlake Oaks. Passenger Mary Reaume, 64, wasn't wearing a seat belt and as the 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup spun, she was thrown out onto the highway.

Uboldi's 2002 Oldsmobile Alero rolled, stopping off of the southeast edge of Highway 53.

The three were taken by ambulance to St. Helena Clearlake Hospital with major injuries.

CHP officers didn't suspect alcohol involvement.
