After a week of drenching rains, the North Coast should have as much as two weeks to dry out, welcome news for those who feel enough is enough.
An overnight storm Tuesday night and Wednesday morning dropped a significant amount of rain, but National Weather Service forecasters said there is now nothing but dry weather for the foreseeable future.
"Once this moseys on out of here this afternoon or evening, we are in for several days of dry," Diana Henderson, a forecaster for the National Weather Service in Monterey, said Wednesday morning. "It will be a dry Hanukkah."
Since the series of storms first hit on Nov. 26, Santa Rosa has received 7.44 inches of rain, Cloverdale 11.14, Healdsburg 7.11, Petaluma 5.33, Guerneville 12.07, Sebastopol 9.63 and Cazadero 19.26.
In the 24-hour period ending at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Santa Rosa received 0.98 of an inch of rain, Sebastopol 1.90, Guerneville 1.52, Cazadero 1.80, Petaluma 0.48, and Calistoga 1.05.
The recent storm has left some roads closed, the most significant being Highway 1 on the coast.
The coast highway is closed north of Jenner because of a significant rock and mud slide that covered one lane and was moving onto the second lane, said Tom O'Kane, Sonoma County deputy director of road maintenance.
The slide occurred about 1:30 p.m., and there was no indication of when the road may reopen.
A detour takes motorists around the problem area on Meyers Grade and Fort Ross roads.
An oak tree fell and blocked Bennett Valley Road near Lafranconi Road at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday and was struck by a small car, but there were no injuries.
The CHP said there was flooding in the morning on Valley Ford Road between Highway 1 and Bloomfield.
More than 200 PG&E customers lost power Wednesday morning in Sebastopol, Guerneville, Cazadero and Forestville, with power expected to be restored later in the day.
The largest blackout was in Forestville, where 130 customers were affected after a tree brought down a line on Sequoia Avenue near Westside Road.
