Ukiah man found asleep in running car arrested on drug charges

A Ukiah man found asleep in his car in west Santa Rosa told CHP officers he thought he was in Ukiah and that the year was 2008, reported the CHP Tuesday.

The officers arrested driver Jonathan Brittain, 26, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, as well as having methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

They found Brittain in a Chevrolet Cavalier stopped on Occidental Road at Fulton Road at about 2:40 a.m. Monday, reported Officer Jon Sloat.

The driver appeared to be asleep, the car lights were on and the key was in the ignition in the &β€˜on' position, Sloat said.

The inside of the car reportedly smelled of marijuana, officers reported.
