Person reported killed in ATV crash north of Willits

Mendocino County authorities were investigating the death of a person early Sunday who appeared to have crashed on an ATV.

The crash was reported at 8:25 a.m. on private property north of Willits, CHP officials said.

A caller said the person appeared to have crashed Saturday. That person met authorities to lead them into the property about six miles north of Willits, the CHP reported.

Fire paramedics confirmed that the person was dead. Mendocino County coroner's officials were dispatched to the property.
