Boy injured in coastal cliff fall identified

A 13-year-old boy who suffered head injuries Saturday when he fell 20 feet down a rocky Sonoma Coast cliff was identified Monday as Chandler Blakely of the Sierra Nevada foothill hamlet of Cool.

Blakely was visiting from El Dorado County with a large group of family and friends, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said. He fell just after 5 p.m. and was plucked to safety by the sheriff's helicopter team. He was taken to Children's Hospital in Oakland.

Blakely's condition was unavailable. A hospital spokeswoman Monday said she had no records regarding a child with that name.
