Clearlake man arrested in Wal-Mart robberies
Ukiah police Tuesday night arrested a Clearlake man they suspect robbed the Ukiah Wal-Mart at gunpoint last week.
Michael Christopher Drebaum, 33, also is suspected of multiple thefts at the Clearlake Wal-Mart, most recently on Thursday, the day before the Ukiah robbery, police said. On one occasion, he smashed a display cabinet and made off with jewelry, police said.
On Friday, Drebaum is suspected of standing in line at the Ukiah Wal-Mart customer service counter until it was his turn, then displaying a gun and demanding money.
Drebaum was arrested at his Clearlake home, where Ukiah and Clearlake police found a firearm believed to have been used in the Ukiah robbery, police said. It was a BB gun that looks like a real gun, police said. He was booked into the Lake County Jail for Lake County warrants and the Ukiah robbery.
