Several crashes in the Santa Rosa area early Friday snarled traffic along Highways 101 and 12.

A crash on northbound Highway 101 near Baker Avenue temporarily blocked all lanes of traffic.

A yellow Toyota pickup and white Ford pickup crashed at about 7:15 a.m., according to initial CHP reports. Emergency responders called for additional ambulances to handle four patients. Early reports indicate that four people were hurt with minor-to-moderate injuries. Traffic was backed up as far as Yolanda Avenue.

About ten minutes later, a white Mercedes crashed into a wall on Highway 12.

Emergency responders alerted dispatchers that a person may need to be extricated from the Mercedes. The crash was reported at 7:23 a.m. near the interchange with Highway 101, according to the CHP log.
