Fake Sonoma County Fair coupons sold online, on street

Counterfeit tickets being sold for $20 won't be accepted at fair, officials say.|

Organizers of the Sonoma County Fair warned consumers on Wednesday to beware of fake Carnival Wow Coupons being sold online and elsewhere.

While the tickets closely resemble the real coupons, they are counterfeit and won’t be accepted at the fair.

Organizers said the tickets are being sold for $20 through Craigslist, Facebook and on the street. Consumers can only purchase authentic WOW Coupons at the Sonoma County Fair box office.

The Sonoma County Fair, now in its 78th year, runs through August 10.

Anyone with information about the counterfeit tickets is asked to call 545-4200.
