Warriors beat Magic for 6th consecutive victory

Kent Bazemore matched a season-high with 12 points, Marreese Speights had 10 points and six rebounds and Draymond Green had six points, nine rebounds and four blocks to pace the reserves. It was Green's second straight game with four blocks, which is a career high.

"When we step on the floor, we don't necessarily have to boost the lead but we definitely have to maintain it," Green said. "The way we maintain it is with our energy level on the defensive end."

There were times earlier this year where Jackson tried to let the reserves close a game out but had to bring the starters back, something Bazemore called "embarrassing."

That's what made this effort so encouraging, especially on this road trip where any saved minutes for the starters could be beneficial.

After hovering barely over .500 not long ago, the Warriors are now back on a pace for 50 wins thanks to this six-game streak. It's the longest current winning streak in the NBA.

"We've been up and down," Bazemore said. "It feels good to win two in a row on the road and get the ball rolling finally."

The Warriors established control early by attacking the paint, dominating the boards and using excellent ball movement. Golden State scored 16 of its 26 first-quarter points in the paint and finished the night with 42 points inside.

David Lee led the team with 22 points and added nine rebounds.

"David's playing at a high level the last 10-12 games," Jackson said. "The David Lee we've come to expect and appreciate around here and it makes a difference. It opens up a lot of things for us."

Curry's NBA season-best streak of 12 straight games with 20 or more points ended. He finished with nine points, eight assists and five rebounds in 29 minutes. Klay Thompson had 15 points.

The Warriors held Orlando to 38.2 percent shooting, the 14th time this year their opponent has shot less than 40 percent. That's second in the league to Indiana, which shares the NBA's best record.'

NOTES

Orlando center Nikola Vucevic sprained his left ankle with 3:29 left in the first quarter and did not return. The 7-footer entered the night averaging 13.8 points and 11.5 rebounds.

Speights requested 75 tickets for friends and family for the game. He's from St. Petersburg, Fla., about an hour and a half away.
