A Daly City man employed by a Bay Area courier service that delivered electronics to a Petaluma home has been arrested for the theft of those same products last month, police said.

A laptop computer and two Sony PlayStations were stolen from the Highland Road house during the day July 30, and police investigating the case recovered fingerprints that led back to an employee for Luggage Services and Logistics, the same company that delivered the equipment to the victim some time earlier, police said.

The suspect, Andres Demetrio Dayao, 26, has a criminal record and already was on probation, Petaluma police said. When he was questioned, he eventually admitted taking the electronics, authorities said.

The equipment already had been sold and was not recovered, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Dayao, and he was taken into custody on Thursday at his home and arrested for suspected burglary, police said.

He remained in the custody of the Sonoma County Jail on Saturday with bail set at $40,000, authorities said.
